WWG was established as an informal group in 1993 by a group of journalists and wildlife experts. It was registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation in May 2002 and is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council.
Mission
Minimize killing and illegal trade of wildlife by alerting, and educating people through programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, training, research, and publications and urging and reminding the concerned authorities of their responsibilities toward the protection and conservation of wildlife by implementing CITES regulations; which will also help conserve biodiversity.
Aim
It aims to design concept and bring out initiative programs on preservation of wildlife.
What it is doing?
Since its inception, WWG has been instrumental in alerting and educating the
public on various wildlife issues. WWG has also been active in urging and
reminding the concerned authorities of their responsibilities towards the
protection and conservation of wildlife by implementing CITES regulations. Side
by side it is also monitoring the wildlife trade and advocating against illegal
trade of wildlife and its products.
